Chica and agility and fear of chows

Today I decided to withdraw from agility. I feel guilty because Chica enjoyed it, but I found it was just too hard on me - all that running around. I'm going to look into some advanced obedience classes or tricks classes that will be more walking and less running. Today, to make up for the lack of her special activity (yes, I realize she doesn't know any different), I made sure to take her over to the Pit for a good run around.

She has developed a fear of any dog that even reminds her of Simba, the chow. The first time, she actually saw Simba and trotted away and I had a time of catching up to her. The next time, it was a different chow she saw and ran away from. (I took her back on her leash to that chow who was friendly so that she could see it was safe.) Today, she ran from a dog that was just golden and furry around the head. Maybe he was part chow, I don't know. Thankfully, I yelled at her to WAIT and she stopped between two cars in the first parking row of the lot. I had some bad visions for a moment there.

We have met Simba on a morning walk and stayed on our side of the road. I don't try to bring them together any more. She is just too nervous of him. I guess I will have to check with someone who knows dog behaviour to see the best course of action.
